Hosandae University beauty students sweep awards at 2026 Daegu International Beauty Expo

Every student who competed from Hosandae University's Department of Beauty Smart Care won an award at the beauty competition held during the 2026 Daegu International Beauty Expo, which ran from June 11 to 13 at EXCO in Daegu.

Park Hong-jeong, a fourth-year advanced major student, claimed two titles in the barbershop cut category of the hairdressing skills competition, winning both a special award and the most valuable player award. Seo Hyeon-ju took the gold prize in the barbershop style category.

The skin care division also yielded strong results. Kim Ji-yun, a second-year student, won the Daegu Mayor's Award gold prize in the facial special care bamboo therapy event, while fellow second-year student Im Su-jeong claimed the branch president's award gold prize in the same division.

More than 20 other enrolled students competed across a range of categories — including traditional jjokmeori (traditional Korean updo), nail care and body Swedish massage — and collectively brought home a large number of silver and bronze prizes, including the Daegu Mayor's Award silver prize, demonstrating the department's strong practical skills.

Particularly notable was first-year student Kim Min-jeong, who entered all three fields of hair, nail and skin care and placed in every event she entered.

Eom Su-jeong, head of the Department of Beauty Smart Care, said the results reflected students' ability to apply in competition the skills they had built through regular coursework and extracurricular programs. "We are particularly proud that our first-year students stepped up without hesitation and achieved such fine results," she said.
