A power outage struck the area around Munseong High School in Bongson-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, at around 5:54 a.m. Monday.
Korea Electric Power Corp. believes a lightning strike severed a high-voltage line. Crews restored power about two hours later, at around 7:50 a.m.
The outage disrupted roughly 145 households in nearby apartment buildings during the Monday morning commute, according to preliminary assessments.
