The Yatap Youth Center, operated by the Seongnam Youth and Young Adults Foundation (CEO Yang Gyeong-seok), concluded a showcase for its resource-circulation project "Re-Ceramic (Rewriting the Record of Clay)" on Saturday at the Foot:Byeolbyeol Cafe on the first floor of the center. Sixteen students in grades four through six took part.
The project was designed to build an ESG-linked education model in which young people practice resource circulation and environmental protection — and experience personal growth — by working with discarded ceramics, which take more than one million years to decompose naturally.
The participants collected discarded ceramics themselves and used them to craft wall clocks and decorative vases. At the exhibition, they served as docents, introducing their works and explaining the production process to community residents.
