Gijang-gun announced Tuesday it will run the "2026 Summer Gijang-gun Youth Administrative Experience Program" for young residents in the district.
The Gijang-gun Youth Administrative Experience Program runs twice a year — in summer and winter — giving unemployed young people, including university students living in Gijang-gun, hands-on exposure to local government work. A total of 102 participants were selected for this summer's program.
They will be assigned from this month through next month to the main county office, township and village administrative welfare centers, public libraries and the Gijang-gun Urban Management Corporation. Participants will assist with administrative tasks and help guide residents with inquiries, and will visit key project sites to deepen their understanding of county government operations.
Gijang-gun chief Woo Seong-bin said the county plans to run the program with greater substance "so that the administrative experience becomes a genuinely valuable opportunity for Gijang-gun youth before they enter the workforce in earnest."
