Zigzag said Tuesday it has introduced a direct exchange service called "Jikjin Exchange," building on its existing fast-delivery offering "Jikjin Delivery."
The fast-delivery service previously had no exchange function, requiring customers who wanted to swap a product to request a refund and place a new order. With the new service, Jikjin Delivery customers can apply for an exchange within seven days of receiving a product — without returning the item or placing a new order — and receive it faster. Any coupon or mileage benefits are also retained.
Zigzag said a pilot run showed the average exchange period fell from 4.5 days in January to 3.5 days in June, a reduction of more than 22 percent. The number of exchanges processed through the service jumped more than threefold. The dropout rate — customers who canceled while waiting for an exchange — dropped more than 70 percent compared with January, when the service first launched.
"We will continue to upgrade the service throughout the year to set a new standard for product exchanges," a Kakao Style official said.
