Gyeongbuk Health College runs KALS Provider course for nursing students from Mungyeong and Gimcheon universities

Gyeongbuk Health College announced Tuesday that it had successfully completed its "2026 KALS (Korean Advanced Life Support) Provider Certification Support Program," run as part of its nursing college clinical education support project.

The program was held twice — on July 3 and Monday — targeting fourth-year nursing students at Mungyeong University and Gimcheon University.

It was designed to strengthen participants' ability to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and build their competency in caring for emergency patients in in-hospital cardiac arrest situations.

Sessions took place in the simulation lab at Gyeongbuk Health College's Nursing Education Support Center and combined theoretical instruction with hands-on practice in advanced life support, in accordance with the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation's KALS Training Site standards.

Through the theoretical and practical training, students practiced initial assessment of cardiac arrest patients, advanced life support algorithms, airway management, defibrillator use and team-based simulation drills.

"We will continue to actively support students so they can grow into nursing professionals equipped with expertise and practical skills through field-centered clinical education," said Lee Eun-jik, president of Gyeongbuk Health College.
