Uljin-gun chief revives direct text message service for residents

Uljin-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Tuesday it is relaunching a direct text message service that lets residents send complaints and suggestions straight to the county chief, as part of efforts to strengthen public communication and incorporate community feedback into local governance.

The service operates through a dedicated phone number and lets residents submit grievances, proposals and lifestyle inconveniences via text message at any time and from any location.

The county chief personally reviews complaints received through the contact-free channel before routing them to the relevant department for prompt handling. Suggestions and proposals will be actively reflected in county administration going forward.

"Every small voice from our residents is a precious foundation for building a better Uljin," county chief Hwang I-ju said. "We will pursue swift complaint resolution and proactive on-the-ground communication that residents can truly feel."
