Ulsan Polytechnic College earns top rating for region-tailored workforce training

Korea Polytechnics Ulsan Campus, also known as Ulsan Polytechnic College, has received an S rating — the highest possible — in the 2025 Regional and Industry-Tailored Joint Training Center performance evaluation, organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.

The evaluation covered 223 joint training centers nationwide and assessed them on five criteria: the spread of training outcomes, infrastructure maintenance, the rate of partner companies secured, achievement and completion rates against training targets, and the budget execution rate.

Ulsan Polytechnic College formed a dedicated team under Lee Yeon-ju, head of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Office, to run the center for incumbent workers at small and medium-sized enterprises in the Ulsan area, tailoring its programs to the job-skill demands of the region's key industries, including shipbuilding, offshore plant and energy.

Last year, the college delivered customized training to 685 incumbent workers from 378 partner companies, earning a trainee satisfaction score of 9.43 out of 10.

Building on the S rating, the college plans to expand its customized vocational training to better reflect local industry needs and strengthen the job competencies of incumbent workers in the region.
