HD Hyundai Heavy, together with HD Korea Shipbuilding and the HD Hyundai 1% Sharing Foundation, held a donation ceremony Thursday at the Ulsan Dong-gu Community Welfare Center, presenting a summer health food package worth 40 million won ($26,500) that includes samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), galbi soup and misugaru (a roasted grain powder drink).
At the ceremony, attended by representatives from local social welfare facilities, senior manager Lee Chang-yong — who participates in the company's 1% salary-sharing program — presented the package to Nam Hye-jin, director of the Ulsan Dong-gu Community Welfare Center, on behalf of HD Hyundai Heavy employees.
The packages will be distributed to about 430 vulnerable households in Ulsan's Dong-gu amid the summer heat, helping residents maintain their nutrition and health during the hot season.
"We hope this support will be a small help for neighbors who are vulnerable to the summer heat, allowing them to stay healthy through the season," an HD Hyundai Heavy official said. "We will continue our community sharing activities going forward."
