IITP receives Ministry of Patriots and Veterans commendation for 7 years of cemetery upkeep

The Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation has received a commendation plaque from the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans minister in recognition of its contributions to grave maintenance at the National Daejeon Memorial Cemetery and the promotion of a culture honoring national service.

IITP signed a "one company, one grave site" partnership agreement with the National Daejeon Memorial Cemetery in 2019 and has since carried out volunteer cemetery cleanup activities every year.

Over the past three years, the institute conducted 39 cleanup sessions totaling 84 hours. The sustained effort was recognized for honoring the sacrifices of national merit recipients and helping spread awareness of the values of patriotism and veterans' service.

As a specialized AI and ICT research and development agency, IITP has built a community engagement framework that draws on its institutional expertise and encourages employee participation in social contribution activities as part of its ESG management and social value commitments.

Since August 2025, the institute has converted its on-site convenience store into an ESG-focused outlet run by the Gachipluseu Social Cooperative, creating jobs for people with disabilities, women who have left the workforce and other vulnerable groups. IITP also supports social enterprises in accessing public procurement channels, positioning itself as a leading ESG management model in the public sector while working with the local community to realize sustainable social value.

"This award is the result of our employees' continued participation in honoring the noble spirit of patriotism shown by those who sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the country," IITP President Hong Jin-bae said. "We will continue to expand our community-based social contribution activities going forward."
