Mapo-gu District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 Mapo Women's Recording Academy exhibition Thursday afternoon at the Mapo Women's Companion Center, touring the works on display and joining students in marking the occasion.
The exhibition, themed "Layer by Layer: How to Build Each Day," features 50 works — writings, videos and drawings — in which academy students documented their everyday lives.
Yoo presented certificates of completion to the students, listened to their reflections on the program and joined a commemorative photo session before touring the gallery.
"Recording is not something reserved for special people — it is the story of all of us living ordinary lives," Yoo said. "We will continue to provide full support for a wide range of learning and cultural activities, including through the Women's Companion Center, so that women can keep learning, participating and telling their own stories."
