Former Seocho-gu deputy mayor moves to Seoul city post, receives union appreciation plaque

Jung Young-jun, former deputy district mayor of Seocho-gu, received an appreciation plaque from the Seocho-gu district office labor union as he moved to a new post as director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Digital City Bureau, effective Monday.

The union presented the plaque to express gratitude for Jung's service and to wish him well in his new role at the city government.

"Deputy Mayor, we remember the time we shared with Seocho and cheer you on as you begin a new chapter," union branch chief Lee Jong-deok said. "All Seocho-gu district office employees send their warmest applause to Deputy Mayor Jung Young-jun as he moves on to the Seoul Metropolitan Government."

The union credited Jung with actively communicating with staff during his tenure at Seocho-gu, listening to voices from the scene and working to ensure stable district administration.

Employees particularly remembered him as a leader who visited work sites in person, listened to staff opinions and worked alongside them to find solutions. They said he paid close attention to various pending issues and public complaint sites, and contributed significantly to building a healthy organizational culture grounded in internal communication and trust.

Employees expressed regret at his departure while offering sincere encouragement to Jung as he takes on the new challenge of leading the Digital City Bureau. They said they expect the administrative experience and sense of responsibility he built at Seocho-gu to play a major role in advancing citizen-centered digital administration and policy at the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

"We sincerely congratulate Director Jung Young-jun on his new beginning and wish him even greater growth and good health throughout his continued career in public service," the union said.

Meanwhile, the Seocho-gu district office labor union has maintained a tradition of presenting appreciation plaques to senior officials who dedicated themselves to the district's development. The union previously gave a similar plaque to former Deputy District Mayor Kim Tae-myeong, who also moved to the Seoul Metropolitan Government before Jung.
