SK Chemicals assembles 400 emergency relief kits for climate disaster response

SK Chemicals said Monday it held an emergency relief kit assembly drive at its Pangyo headquarters in Seongnam as part of its 2026 Value Day program.

Value Day is a corporate social responsibility program SK Chemicals has run since last year to support vulnerable communities. The company assembled 450 emergency relief kits under the program last year.

Each kit contains 30 types of items disaster victims may need, including food, hygiene products, first-aid and safety supplies, daily necessities and moisture absorbers. Employees assembled a total of 400 kits.

The completed kits will be handed over to G Foundation, a social contribution NGO, and stored at a logistics warehouse in Yeoju. G Foundation distributes the kits within three days to areas requiring emergency support when a disaster strikes.

SK Chemicals said it plans to continue identifying ESG (environmental, social and governance) initiatives that address pressing social challenges. Ko Jeong-seok, head of SK Chemicals' management support division, said "social uncertainty from disasters and other events continues to grow as the climate crisis accelerates," adding that the company would "seek diverse ways for the company and its employees to actively engage with and prepare for social issues together."
