Inha University, Azerbaijan's BEU graduate 114 from dual-degree program

Inha University has deepened its international education partnership with Baku Engineering University (BEU) in Azerbaijan, producing its third cohort of graduates from their jointly operated Dual Degree Program.

Inha University announced Monday that it recently held the third DDP graduation ceremony in Baku, Azerbaijan, conferring degrees on 114 graduates.

Inha University President Cho Myung-woo, Jeong Seok Inha Hagwon Foundation Chairman Seong Yong-rak, BEU President Yagub Piriyev and South Korea's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kang Geum-gu attended the ceremony to congratulate the graduating class.

The dual-degree program has been in operation since the 2020 academic year, allowing BEU students to complete three years of study at their home institution and one year at Inha University before receiving degrees from both universities simultaneously.

The program currently focuses on information and communications technology and electrical and electronic engineering, training globally competitive engineering talent.

The two universities recently renewed their agreement and decided to broaden the scope of their educational cooperation.

Starting in the 2026 academic year, AI and data science will be added to the existing majors to meet future industry demand, and additional cohorts will be recruited to sustain the exchange.

"The dual-degree program has established itself as a model for educational cooperation between the two countries," Cho said. "We will continue to expand international joint education and work to nurture talent with global competitiveness."
