The Gwanggyo Ecological Environment Experience Education Center in Suwon will host the "Suwon Botanical Illustration & Sea Glass Exhibition" in its gallery through the end of this year, the city announced Monday.
The exhibition brings together two shows: botanical illustrator Kim Eun-gyeong's detailed depictions of Suwon's natural landscapes, and artist Seo Yun-gyeong's upcycling works made from sea glass. Admission is free.
Kim captures wildflowers from the Suwon Arboretum and roadsides in fine detail to convey the beauty of nature. Seo transforms sea glass — discarded glass weathered by ocean waves into smooth fragments — into art that highlights the new value of waste materials and the threat marine debris poses to ocean ecosystems.
