US President Donald Trump said he will deliver a national address at 9 p.m. Thursday (local time).
Trump announced the schedule Monday on his Truth Social account. The address is set for 10 a.m. Friday Korean Standard Time.
Trump did not specify the topic, but observers expect the speech to center on his response to Iran amid rising tensions.
Earlier Monday, Trump said he would reinstate a maritime blockade against Iran and impose what amounts to a transit fee on commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, framed as payment for safe passage.
Trump's last national address was April 1, when White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said he would provide an important update on Iran.
In that address, Trump declared his intention to strike Iran extremely hard over the following two to three weeks.
