Lotte Department Store is hosting a relay pop-up store where visitors can sample signature dishes from chefs who appeared on the tvN variety program "Street Restaurant Fighter," all under one roof.
The event runs from Friday through Sept. 17 at the food hall on the first below-ground floor of the Jamsil branch. The opening act is chef Jo Seo-hyeong of Euljiro Boseok, a hansik omakase restaurant credited with turning Euljiro into a destination known for its long wait lines. Jo will present "glutinous rice nurungji kimchi cheese chicken," the dish that generated the most buzz immediately after the show's first episode aired, from Friday through July 23.
Chef Kim Ho-yun, who spans hansik, Chinese and Western cuisine as well as dessert, joins chef Gwak Dong-hun, who built a following in Busan and on SNS, among a lineup of six chefs presenting their most popular dishes over the nine-week run.
An interactive event inviting customers to become their own "taste reviewers" is also on offer. Participants who post a short video tagged with the required hashtag — "My Own Taste Review" — on YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels will be entered into a draw, with one winner per platform receiving a 300,000-won ($199) shopping credit.
"The marketing division, the food and beverage division and the Jamsil branch worked closely together from the planning stage of the program," said Park Sang-woo, head of the marketing division at Lotte Department Store. "Visitors will be able to experience the dishes that captured attention on the show — first and most vividly."
