Dongguk University WISE Campus holds career fair, mentoring for Vietnamese high school students in Gyeongju

Dongguk University WISE Campus held a career and admissions information session and mentoring program Monday for Vietnamese students enrolled at high schools in the Gyeongju area, at the campus's Wonhyo Hall.

The program, designed to build an anchor framework for developing locally rooted global talent, drew about 70 Vietnamese international students and faculty members from Gyeongju Girls' Information High School, Gyeongju Information High School and Silla Technical High School.

The session covered pathways to local universities, industry-tailored curricula, scholarship programs and post-graduation career options.

Participants also took part in a mentoring exchange with Vietnamese students currently enrolled at Dongguk University WISE Campus, and toured campus facilities after the session concluded.

Lee Yu-gyeong, head of the university's Office of International Affairs, said the campus would "build an education and employment support system in partnership with local governments and businesses to help international students settle in the community," adding that the goal is to make Gyeongju "a hub of the K-Dream where foreign talent can grow and put down roots."

Kwon Cheol-ho, vice principal of Gyeongju Information High School, said the school would "actively participate in the Glocal Edu-Chain platform and joint curriculum initiatives led by Dongguk University WISE Campus to nurture locally rooted global talent," and added that he hopes "close cooperation between local high schools and universities will translate into tangible outcomes in developing glocal talent."
