New York stocks closed higher Tuesday (local time) as inflation concerns eased after US consumer prices last month came in below expectations.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 9.63 points, or 0.02 percent, to finish at 52,508.27. The S&P 500 gained 28.25 points, or 0.38 percent, to close at 7,543.59. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite advanced 233.83 points, or 0.90 percent, to end at 26,107.01.
AI-related semiconductor stocks drove the day's gains, extending their rally and keeping the broader indexes in positive territory.
