SGC Energy publishes 2025 sustainability report

SGC Energy, a comprehensive eco-friendly energy company, announced Wednesday the publication of its "2025 SGC Sustainability Report."

The report is the company's fifth sustainability report, covering SGC Energy's key achievements in sustainable management over the past year as well as its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. It also includes ESG performance data from group affiliates SGC E&C and SGC Solution.

SGC Energy has been working to cut carbon emissions by increasing the share of biomass fuel in its energy mix. Last year, the company raised the biomass fuel ratio to 63 percent — up 4 percentage points from 2024 — reducing carbon emissions by approximately 160,000 tons.

Since last year, SGC Energy has also added a power generation model using sewage sludge, advancing a resource-circulation energy system through biomass-centered fuel diversification. Through its carbon capture and utilization (CCU) project, the company captures up to 300 tons of carbon dioxide per day — or 100,000 tons annually — contributing to greenhouse gas reduction.

In addition, SGC Energy promotes a family-friendly workplace culture through flexible commuting hours and early-departure days, and organizes group outings to sporting events and family-themed monthly activities to give employees more time with their families.

The company actively shares its growth outlook and business strategy with shareholders through regular investor relations events, conference calls and site visits. Since its launch in 2020, SGC Energy has also maintained stable cash dividends every year as part of its ongoing commitment to shareholder returns.

SGC Energy also donated 200 million won ($134,000) to World Vision, an international relief and development NGO, in March last year to help residents in the Yeongnam region recover from wildfire damage. In Gunsan, the company has donated rice annually since 2015 to support vulnerable residents, and also provides kimchi, briquettes and fuel assistance.
