Park Wan-su vows unwavering dedication to residents' happiness

South Gyeongsang Province Governor Park Wan-su attended the 341st Joint Labor-Management Breakfast Seminar at the Grand Mercure Ambassador Hotel in Changwon on Wednesday, calling for a cooperative labor-management culture as the foundation for sustainable economic growth in the province.

The seminar, organized by the South Gyeongsang Employers' Federation (chairman Lee Sang-yeon), drew about 200 participants, including Park, South Gyeongsang Provincial Education Superintendent Kwon Sun-gi, Changwon Mayor Kang Gi-yun, Park Jeong-hwan, chairman of the South Gyeongsang chapter of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, and corporate executives and union officials from across the province.

The monthly breakfast seminar, held regularly since 2007, has become a key forum where labor, management and government representatives gather to share perspectives on local labor conditions and economic issues and build consensus around mutual cooperation.

In his remarks, Park said the public's renewed trust in his leadership was a mandate to carry forward the policy direction of the eighth directly elected provincial administration and drive a new leap forward for South Gyeongsang Province. "I will dedicate myself without wavering to the happiness of our residents and the revitalization of the South Gyeongsang economy, and will lead a provincial government that goes directly to the people," he said.

The seminar also featured a special lecture by Lee In-a, a professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at Seoul National University, on corporate management strategies in the AI era from a brain and cognitive science perspective. Lee drew an enthusiastic response from attendees by outlining organizational strategies and a new field-centered approach to leadership that companies need as AI and other advanced technologies rapidly reshape the industrial landscape.

South Gyeongsang Province said it plans to use the seminar as a springboard to accelerate the AI transformation of its manufacturing sector, including a locally led AI transition initiative and an AX demonstration industrial complex.

The province plans to open the Gyeongnam Manufacturing AI Data Center in September in partnership with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. Building on the data center, the province intends to upgrade a South Gyeongsang-style physical AI one-stop support platform to swiftly deliver tailored AX technology and solutions to small and midsize manufacturers in the region.
