Chabiotech has been selected for the Ministry of Science and ICT's "AX One-Stop Voucher" support program, accelerating its push to commercialize generative AI-based cell therapies.
The company said Monday it has formed a consortium with Naver Cloud, Persona AI and Mediaiplus to build an AI-based software-as-a-service platform aimed at speeding up cell therapy commercialization. The project will receive 2.6 billion won ($1.77 million) in government support.
The AX One-Stop Voucher program promotes AI adoption among domestic companies by providing integrated support for AI solutions, cloud infrastructure and data utilization. Under the arrangement, Naver Cloud will supply high-performance cloud infrastructure, Persona AI will handle AI solution development and SaaS platform construction, and Mediaiplus will be responsible for data structuring and quality verification.
In cell therapy development, chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) documents are critical regulatory filings that demonstrate a product's safety and reproducibility. Compiling and cross-checking data across departments has traditionally demanded significant time and manpower. Introducing an AI platform into the specialist-driven process of drafting and verifying complex biotech regulatory documents is seen as a strategic turning point — one that could cut development costs and improve the odds of winning global regulatory approval.
Chabiotech plans to deploy a healthcare-specialized large language model alongside four core verification agents — covering knowledge, forms and validation — to build an integrated AI workflow spanning search, analysis, generation and verification. The system will automate CMC document consolidation to boost operational efficiency and sharply reduce the time needed to respond to drug approval requirements.
"We will build an automated system that structures dispersed document data and handles everything from drafting regulatory response documents to verifying them," said Yoon Seok-hwan, senior managing director of Chabiotech's AI team. "We will create a model case that accelerates the spread of AI transformation across the broader biotech industry."
