Uiseong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Tuesday it will accept nominations for the 33rd Pride of the County Award through Aug. 28.
Recipients will be selected in four categories — community development, culture and sports, industry and economy, and volunteer service — with one individual or organization chosen per category based on contributions to the county's development.
Eligible candidates must have maintained resident registration in Uiseong-gun for at least three consecutive years, or be an organization — including institutions and corporations — based in the county for at least three consecutive years, with a distinguished record of contribution to its development.
Nominations may be submitted by heads of organizations related to each award category, heads of towns or townships, or private individuals with the signatures of at least 150 people. Nomination forms can be submitted in person at the General Affairs and Saemaul Division of the Uiseong-gun Office or at local town and township offices, or sent by mail.
"I hope the Pride of the County Award will help us discover more people who serve as role models in our community and bring wider recognition to their contributions," Uiseong-gun County Chief Choi Yu-cheol said, urging residents to actively submit nominations.
