The Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences has appointed Song Kang-hyun as director of Korea Cancer Center Hospital.
Song earned his medical degree from Seoul National University College of Medicine and his master's and doctoral degrees in medicine from Ulsan University College of Medicine. After serving as a clinical instructor at Asan Medical Center, he joined Korea Cancer Center Hospital's urology department in 2009. He subsequently held a series of leadership roles, including director of the Medical Science Validation Center, director of the Biomedical Bridge Center and head of the Department of Radiation Medicine Clinical Research. Since 2016, he has led the urology department as chief physician, overseeing clinical care and research.
