Jungnang-gu has published an operations white paper titled "Five Years of Achievement and Change at the Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center" to mark the fifth anniversary of the center's opening, and has begun distributing it.
The white paper compiles the major projects and operational results the center has pursued since its 2021 opening, documenting the changes it has brought to the local education scene over the past five years and outlining its direction going forward.
The publication covers three areas: the center's background and five-year history, its key education programs and operational outcomes, and interviews with stakeholders and participant stories. Particularly notable are interviews with principals of elementary, middle and high schools in Jungnang-gu, as well as members of the center's supporters group, the Jungnang Parent Coaching Team, the Jungnang-gu Parent Association federation and school operating committees — offering a range of perspectives on how the center has been run and the education support it has provided.
The white paper also features stories from students who participated in center programs, university student mentors and graduates of the Jungnang Stepping Stone Mentoring initiative. It also includes the operational direction and future plans for the recently opened second Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center.
The district plans to distribute the white paper to elementary, middle and high schools in the area, as well as public and district-run libraries and major institutions under the district office. It will also be made available as an e-book through the center's website so that anyone can read it.
The Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center runs a wide range of programs covering holistic education, career guidance and academic support for local students and parents. As of July 2026, cumulative visitors have reached approximately 270,000, and the total number of programs held has approached 10,000. A satisfaction survey conducted among participants and parents recorded an average satisfaction rate of 92 percent.
The district has also steadily expanded investment in improving the educational environment. Education support funding for schools grew from about 3.8 billion won ($2.69 million) in 2018 to about 16 billion won in 2026, while the rate of students advancing to four-year universities in the Seoul area rose from 24 percent in 2018 to 44 percent in 2025.
"This white paper is a record of the path the Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center has walked and the achievements it has made over the past five years," Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to provide diverse education support so that students can map out their own dreams and futures, and build Jungnang into a city that leads in education."
