Busan Bank launches electronic braille service for internet banking

BNK Busan Bank announced Thursday that it has introduced an electronic braille service for its internet banking platform to improve financial accessibility for visually impaired customers and support more convenient remote banking. The service lets visually impaired customers access key financial information in electronic braille while using internet banking.

The service covers 43 major menus — including account inquiry, transaction history and approval history screens, as well as frequently used certificate issuance screens such as transfer certificates and deposit balance certificates — delivered as electronic braille files in BRL and BRF formats.

Users can download the electronic braille files through the "Braille" menu in the upper right corner of the personal internet banking screen, then read them on a braille display device or print them using a braille printer.

The bank said the service is expected to improve convenience for visually impaired customers, particularly because numerical data and table-format financial information — which had been difficult to verify through voice guidance alone — can now be read more accurately on a dedicated electronic braille terminal.
