Cheongsong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province has been operating a mobile cadastral complaint-handling unit to ease the burden on residents who have difficulty navigating land registration issues, the county announced Friday.
The service, which began in February at a senior center in Eocheon 2-ri, Pacheon-myeon, dispatches officials directly to senior centers and community halls to receive and process cadastral complaints on the spot. It is designed to reduce the time and financial costs for residents who struggle to visit government offices due to long distances or poor transportation links.
Cheongsong-gun runs the program jointly with the Cheongsong-Yeongyang branch of the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatics Corp. each year.
In the first half of this year, the unit received and processed a total of 31 cases covering 66 parcels of land — including 21 land-change cases involving 41 parcels and 10 land-dispute consultations covering 15 parcels. Officials also fielded a range of general complaints from residents on site, drawing a positive response from the community.
Visit schedules by township will be announced through smart village broadcasting systems and other channels. Residents seeking further details can contact the cadastral management team at Cheongsong-gun's general civil affairs division.
"As the mobile cadastral complaint unit has been receiving strong support from residents, we will continue to identify remote villages with poor transportation access as well as areas likely to generate cadastral complaints, and deliver field-centered administration," county chief Yun Gyeong-hui said.
