Employment support forum for universities held in Daegu

The Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Employment Information Service and the National University Job Plus Center Association held the "2026 Job First Step Guarantee Center Project Sharing Forum" at the Interbulgo Exco Hotel in Daegu from Aug. 11 to 12.

The forum was organized to support the smooth operation of the Job First Step Guarantee Center project, overseen by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and to promote information sharing and collaboration among participating universities.

About 60 people attended, including representatives from the 10 universities running the project and officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Employment Information Service.

The 10 participating universities were Kyungnam University, Keimyung University, Daejin University, Pai Chai University, Pusan National University, Bucheon University, Sangmyung University, Sejong University, Yeungnam University of Science and Technology and Wonkwang University.

Participants shared operational case studies and outcomes from each university and discussed ways to enhance tailored employment support services for young job seekers. Particular emphasis was placed on building a phased support system for youth entering the job market for the first time and on strengthening the collaborative network among universities.

Lee Jong-hyeop, chairman of the National University Job Plus Center Association and director of career and employment support at Keimyung University, said the forum would help raise the quality of the project by pooling the experience and achievements each university has accumulated, with the goal of building a regional employment support ecosystem in which universities and local communities work together.
