Kumho Engineering & Construction has sold out all 812 units of Wangsuk Atera, its apartment complex in the Wangsuk District 2 area of Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, just seven days after contracts opened.
The company announced Wednesday that it completed contracts for all 812 units after running priority contracts from Aug. 10 to Friday, then extending the process to waitlisted applicants.
In the general supply subscription held in May, 23,525 applicants competed for 223 units, yielding an average subscription competition rate of 105.5 to 1. The highest rate for a single unit type reached 393.6 to 1. The special supply drew 14,001 applicants for 131 units, recording an average rate of 106.9 to 1.
Wangsuk Atera is the first complex in the third-generation new town of Namyangju's Wangsuk District 2 to complete a full subscription process. It is being developed as a publicly backed private-participation apartment project subject to the price ceiling on new apartments.
The complex will rise on Block A-1 of Wangsuk District 2 in Namyangju, comprising seven buildings of up to 29 above-ground floors over two below-ground levels, with exclusive use areas of 59, 74 and 84 square meters across 812 units in total. Move-in is scheduled for February 2029.
Wangsuk District 2 is a third-generation new town being developed in the Ilpae-dong and Ipae-dong areas of Namyangju, with a planned capacity of about 16,000 households. It sits adjacent to Dasan New Town, Wangsuk District 1 and the Yangjong transit-oriented area.
A new station — tentatively named Station 946 — is planned within 1 kilometer of the complex, served by the Gangdong-Hanam-Namyangju Line (an extension of Metro Line 9) and the Gyeongui-Jungang Line. The complex will also have access to the Seoul Ring Expressway, the Northern Bypass Expressway, the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway and the Sejong-Pocheon Expressway, as well as a planned road connecting Wangsuk District 2 and Dasan.
A kindergarten, an elementary school and a middle school are planned on sites directly in front of the complex, with the district's central commercial zone also nearby. Proximity to Dasan New Town gives residents access to existing lifestyle amenities as well.
The complex is oriented primarily to face south, and all units feature a four-bay layout. Storage spaces including walk-in closets and entryway storage rooms are provided, and select unit types will include an alpha room.
"The sellout of Wangsuk Atera in just seven days, following its strong subscription competition rate, confirmed the high level of interest from end-users not only in the location and product quality but also in the Atera brand," a Kumho Engineering & Construction official said. "We will continue to strengthen Atera's brand competitiveness by offering differentiated products that raise residential satisfaction for our customers."
