Twelve young people preparing for careers in aviation spent 20 weeks rotating between Air Premia's headquarters and airport operations, gaining hands-on experience in management, flight operations and maintenance. The airline announced Monday it had completed the program, which it runs to help young job seekers explore career paths and build practical skills.
The program is part of the "Mirae Naeil" Work Experience project, a government-backed initiative overseen by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and operated by the Korea Aviation Association. It is designed to give unemployed young people direct exposure to jobs they are interested in and help them build the skills needed for employment.
Participants were placed at Air Premia's headquarters and at airport facilities, working across multiple departments — including management, human resources, information security, sales, flight operations and maintenance — to deepen their understanding of how an airline functions.
Beyond on-the-job experience, the program offered regular one-on-one mentoring sessions with current Air Premia employees, giving participants direct guidance on their areas of interest and career direction. Three networking events were also held throughout the program.
Site visits were built into the schedule as well. Participants toured Air Premia's maintenance headquarters and branch offices at Incheon International Airport, observing how aircraft are operated and how airport functions are carried out in practice.
This is not Air Premia's first time running the aviation jobs youth intern program. The airline has participated since 2024, completing five rounds to date and giving a total of 48 young people the opportunity to experience airline work firsthand.
A second round is already underway. Air Premia is currently accepting applications for its 2026 Second Aviation Jobs Youth Intern program, which is set to begin Sept. 7.
"We run this program so that young people can experience real work and deepen their understanding of the industry and its roles," said Kim Gi-jae, head of Air Premia's human resources team. "We will continue to expand practical work experience opportunities to nurture the next generation of aviation talent."
