S. Korea's Nuri rocket set for 5th launch on Oct. 7

South Korea's homegrown Nuri rocket is set to attempt its fifth launch on Oct. 7.

The Korea AeroSpace Administration said Thursday it held the first Launch Management Committee meeting for Nuri's fifth flight and set Oct. 7 as the target launch date.

The committee reviewed the readiness of the Nuri 5 vehicle, its payload satellites, and facilities at the Naro Space Center — including the launch pad and tracking systems — as well as launch conditions such as weather, the space environment and the possibility of collision with other space objects. A backup launch window has been set from Oct. 8 through Oct. 14 to account for potential schedule changes due to weather or other unforeseen variables.
