Gyeongbuk Health College student passes national logistics manager exam, extending department's 4-year streak

The Smart Logistics Department at Gyeongbuk Health College announced Thursday that it has produced a successful candidate in the 2026 logistics manager examination — a national professional certification administered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport — extending the department's streak to four consecutive years.

This year's successful candidate is Shim Hong-bi, a second-year student in the Smart Logistics Department. Since enrolling, Shim has built up her expertise step by step, covering the fundamentals of logistics through transportation, warehousing, retail distribution and international logistics.

Drawing on knowledge gained in her major coursework, she took on the logistics manager certification — one of the most recognized national professional qualifications in the field — and passed while still enrolled after sustained study and preparation.

The result marks the fourth consecutive year the department has produced a logistics manager certificate holder, reflecting an educational framework that links major coursework, certification preparation, hands-on field training and employment in a structured sequence.

At the core of that approach is the department's integrated curriculum, which connects classroom instruction, certification, field practice and job placement. As students work through their major courses, they naturally absorb the theoretical knowledge and specialized content required for the certification exam.

Faculty provide close academic guidance alongside theory instruction tailored to the exam's tested areas, as well as problem-solving sessions and direct support for certification preparation — helping students translate what they have learned into tangible results.

Gyeongbuk Health College President Lee Eun-jik said he hoped Shim's achievement would give younger students the confidence to believe they too can succeed and inspire them to take on new challenges.
