A new express bus service (Olta 3001) directly connecting Yeosu's Mipyeong, Yeomun, Ungcheon and Museon residential areas with Suncheon station will begin a pilot run Tuesday through the end of the year.
The Olta 3001 will depart from Mipyeong Elementary School and stop at Yeoseo and Munsu districts, Ungcheon, Seonsobridge, Hakdong and Museon, Sora, Yeosu Airport, Yulchon, Woljeon, Palma Stadium and E-mart before terminating at KTX Suncheon station.
The key feature of the new service is that residents of the Yeomun, Ungcheon and Museon areas — which the existing No. 330 bus does not serve — can travel directly to Suncheon without transferring.
Yeosu city will operate two buses on the route, running seven trips from Mipyeong to Suncheon station and seven in the reverse direction, for a total of 14 one-way runs per day.
The first buses depart at 7 a.m. from both Mipyeong and Suncheon station. The last departure from Mipyeong is at 9:30 p.m., while the last bus from Suncheon station leaves at 8:30 p.m.
The fare is 1,600 won for regular transit card users. Teenagers pay 100 won, and residents 75 and older ride free up to 20 times a month. A free transfer within one hour is also available — all in line with Yeosu's existing city bus fare and transfer system.
Unlike regular city buses that stop at every designated stop, the express service halts only at 35 key stops in each direction, cutting travel time between Yeosu and Suncheon.
