Fortuneteller's past reading of Park Wi resurfaces amid CCTV controversy; couple removed as Seoul ambassadors

As YouTuber Park Wi faces backlash over a CCTV footage controversy, a fortuneteller's past reading of his and his wife Song Ji-eun's compatibility has resurfaced online. The couple was also removed Friday from the Seoul Metropolitan Government's list of honorary ambassadors.

Fortuneteller Oh Seong-gung Park Yeon posted a YouTube video in December 2024 titled "Song Ji-eun ♥ Wiracel Park Wi — Sinjeom Reading / There's a lot about the man that feels off… Not great, not great."

Park Wi and Song Ji-eun completed their marriage registration in September 2024 and held a wedding ceremony at an undisclosed venue in Seoul in October 2024.

In the video, the fortuneteller conducted the reading with the subjects' photos and names concealed.

Of Song Ji-eun's reading, she said, "She is kind and tends to focus on one person. The woman will have to endure a great deal." Of Park Wi's reading, she said, "He has a hot-tempered nature. He can be selfish rather than considerate."

The fortuneteller added, "In a word, this is a reading where the woman is to be pitied. When I see a reading like this, I advise against marriage. If she is with this man, the woman will have to suffer — not financially, but in other ways. There will be much she must endure because of her husband. The man's reading is unusual."

After confirming that the subjects were Park Wi and Song Ji-eun, the fortuneteller said, "Personally, I hope the two of them live well together," adding, "The woman will have to be very patient. That is what saddens me. She made a big decision."

Earlier, Park Wi posted a video Friday on his YouTube channel "Wiracel" titled "Why I Am Releasing the CCTV Footage," saying he had been involved in an incident while disembarking from a KTX train after traveling to give a lecture on Aug. 14.

After the video was posted, criticism emerged that his response had been excessive — a public service worker had already apologized, yet Park Wi released CCTV footage of the incident and appeared to target the individual with his anger. Park Wi ultimately deleted the CCTV video and posted a public apology.

"I failed to consider the position of the worker who had done their best to help me at the scene and had apologized sincerely," Park Wi said. "My way of conveying the situation was immature and I did not think it through. I apologize to everyone who worked hard at the scene."

Meanwhile, Park Wi and singer-actor Song Ji-eun were removed as Seoul Metropolitan Government honorary ambassadors.

Their photos were taken down Friday from the honorary ambassador roster on the Seoul Metropolitan Government's official website.

On Thursday, Park Wi announced his intention to step down from the honorary ambassador role voluntarily.
