Gov. Park Soo-hyun attends 12th South Chungcheong Women Farmers Convention, stresses AI-driven income guarantee era
South Chungcheong Province Governor Park Soo-hyun attended the 12th South Chungcheong Women Farmers Convention on Monday at Yun Bong-gil Gymnasium in Yesan-gun, offering congratulations and words of encouragement to women farmers across the province.
The event, organized by the South Chungcheong Provincial Federation of Korean Women Farmers and the Yesan-gun chapter, was held under the theme "Farming is life! Women farmers opening the future!"
About 1,000 attendees — including Park and other guests alongside members of the Korean Women Farmers Association from across the province — took part in a program that featured an awards ceremony for outstanding women farmers, a recitation of the women farmers' pledge, a hope declaration ceremony and a special exhibition of premium agricultural products from cities and counties across the province.
At the awards ceremony, 40 commendations were presented to outstanding women farmers who have contributed to the development of agriculture and rural communities, including citations from the governor and the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
"Agriculture is a vital pillar of national security and a life industry responsible for humanity's sustainable existence," Park said. "The role of women farmers is critically important as agriculture undergoes a great AI transformation to emerge as a cutting-edge industry."
Park added that AI's benefits must reach every corner of the country's farming communities. "Through South Chungcheong's AI transformation, we will resolve labor shortages, ease the burden of hard physical work, and open an era of income guarantee — where farmers' earnings grow in proportion to the sweat they pour in," he said.
