North Gyeongsang tourism body to hold Bomun Night Run with Wally on Monday

North Gyeongsang Province, Gyeongju and the North Gyeongsang Province Cultural Tourism Corporation will hold the "Bomun Night Run with Wally" event Monday at the Bomun tourism complex in Gyeongju, marking the first anniversary of the 2025 APEC Summit.

The event combines sports, tourism and nighttime entertainment into a distinctive sports-tourism program centered on the Bomun tourism complex.

Held in collaboration with the Where's Wally? franchise, the event invites participants to run and walk through the night scenery around Bomun Lake dressed as the iconic character.

The event will accommodate up to 5,000 participants across two courses — a 10-kilometer running course and a 5-kilometer slow-run course.

On-site attractions will include Wally-themed photo zones, interactive events for participants and food trucks.

The evening will also feature a drone light show and fireworks display alongside the run.

Kim Nam-il, president of the North Gyeongsang Province Cultural Tourism Corporation, said the organization would do its best to generate new nighttime tourism demand at the Bomun tourism complex and provide tangible support to the local tourism industry.
