Next-generation high-performance fiber
enters full-scale commercial production
Daehan Synthetic Fiber, the fiber and petrochemical affiliate of Taekwang Group, announced Monday that it has completed a commercial production system for its high-performance specialty material ACEPAR and will begin full-scale sales.
ACEPAR is a core strategic material that, alongside ACEPARA — a super fiber supplied by Taekwang Industrial — will strengthen the group's industrial product lineup. Both materials leverage the inherent strengths of high-performance fibers and can be used across a wide range of applications, including industrial ropes, cables and composite materials.
ACEPAR is a next-generation high-performance fiber spun in a liquid crystal state. It combines high tensile strength, excellent dimensional stability and outstanding abrasion resistance. Its very low moisture absorption rate means physical properties are barely affected by changes in humidity, and the material maintains stable durability over extended periods even in harsh operating environments.
With a high melting point, strong thermal stability and low dielectric constant, ACEPAR is considered well-suited for high-value-added markets such as electronics, semiconductors and medical devices. The company also plans to expand into non-industrial markets — including premium bags, outdoor goods and high-performance apparel — by capitalizing on the material's combination of high strength and light weight.
Daehan Synthetic Fiber said surging demand across industries for eco-friendly, lightweight and high-performance materials has prompted it to shift its business structure away from commodity fibers and toward high-value-added industrial fibers as a future growth driver.
To secure product quality and reliability, the company conducted repeated production-process verification and rigorous performance evaluations from late last year through the first half of this year. It validated performance and stability through multilateral assessments and collaboration with major domestic customers before establishing the mass-production system needed for full commercial sales.
Marketing activities are also under way in line with the commercial production launch. Following participation in the Techtextil exhibition in Germany in April and the Seoul Premium Textile event in June, the company operated a dedicated business lounge at COEX in August.
"ACEPAR is a key strategic material that, together with our existing aramid product line, will enhance the competitiveness of our super fiber business," a company official said. "Starting with this commercial production milestone, we will accelerate our push into the global advanced materials market by expanding the material's applications beyond industrial uses into the premium lifestyle segment."
