Lee Hyori turns down Waterbomb stage, says she wants to go as a fan

Singer Lee Hyori has expressed curiosity about the summer festival Waterbomb.

According to NewsEn, Monday's episode of JTBC's "Love War" featured Kim Ye-ri — girlfriend of "Sungdae's Shin Se-kyung" — and her boyfriend Lee Seong-jun, a doctoral student at Seoul National University's College of Medicine, who opened up about their concerns 40 days into their relationship.

That day, the couple clashed over whether to attend Waterbomb. The moment the word came up, Lee Seong-jun's expression visibly darkened.

Lee Seong-jun revealed that he had already bought a Waterbomb ticket before meeting Kim Ye-ri but canceled it after they started dating. He then admitted that after seeing her joking around on social media during a trip to Mongolia — a trip that included a male friend — he felt a surge of defiance and decided to track down a ticket again.

Kim Ye-ri pushed back, saying the contact about Waterbomb came out of nowhere on the very first day of her Mongolia trip — not after he saw her social media posts. "I don't mind him going, but he told me not to go and then turned around and said he was going himself — that's what bothered me," she said.

Listening to the exchange, Lee Hyori turned to Seo Jang-hoon and asked if he had ever been to Waterbomb. When he shot back, "Me, go to Waterbomb?", she laughed and said, "I've never been either. What kind of place is it — is it a pickup scene or something?" She then added, "I want to go. Let's go together. I don't want to perform there — I just want to enjoy it."
