Busan Bank joins effort to improve housing for vulnerable residents

BNK Busan Bank signed an MOU Monday at Busan Environment Corporation for a project aimed at improving housing conditions for socially vulnerable residents. The agreement, titled "Woori Dongne Slate ZERO-ZONE," was signed with Busan Environment Corporation, Yeongdo-gu and Posco Steeleon.

The project is designed to ease the financial burden on residents during the removal of aging slate roofs and subsequent roof replacement, providing safer and more comfortable living conditions for local communities.

Under the agreement, Busan Environment Corporation will oversee construction management, including project contracting and on-site supervision, while Yeongdo-gu will handle beneficiary selection and administrative support. Posco Steeleon will carry out roof replacement using high-performance steel panels and provide follow-up maintenance, and Busan Bank will contribute sponsorship funds to reduce out-of-pocket costs for eligible households.

The bank's sponsorship funds will go to households struggling to improve their living conditions due to financial hardship, in accordance with the project's grant criteria. Vulnerable households will receive full coverage of their self-pay portion, while general households will receive up to 2 million won ($1,450) per household, with the aim of delivering meaningful improvements to residential environments.
