Posco E&C to launch pre-sales of 1,290-unit 'The Sharp Cheonan Lacone' in October

Posco E&C plans to launch pre-sales in October for The Sharp Cheonan Lacone, a large residential complex to be built in the Buseong 2 urban development zone in Budae-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

The complex will rise up to 37 above-ground floors with two below-ground levels across 10 buildings, totaling 1,290 units. The unit mix centers on mid-to-large floor plans that are both popular and relatively scarce among end-users: 374 units of 84 square meters Type A, 306 units of 84 square meters Type B, 408 units of 102 square meters, and 202 units of 118 square meters.

The Seongseong lifestyle district, where The Sharp Cheonan Lacone is located, is an area of active urban development — encompassing the Seongseong, Eopseong, Budae and Buseong zones — centered on Seongseong Lake Park, which spans roughly 528,140 square meters. Once development is complete, the area is expected to emerge as a new residential town of more than 25,000 households. Budae-dong in particular sits adjacent to established urban neighborhoods such as Dujeong-dong and Sinbu-dong, allowing residents to enjoy the lakeside environment and views of Seongseong Lake Park alongside the existing urban infrastructure.

Transportation and daily conveniences are also strong. A new Buseong Station on Metropolitan Subway Line 1 is planned within roughly 500 meters of the complex, while KTX and SRT services at Cheonan-Asan Station and the Cheonan Interchange offer easy access in and out of the city. The complex will also be close to commercial facilities within the Seongseong and Buseong zones, as well as large-format retailers including Costco and E-mart.

The development also offers proximity to workplaces and schools. Major industrial complexes nearby — including Samsung SDI's Cheonan plant and the Cheonan General Industrial Complex — make commuting convenient. An elementary school within the Buseong zone and a middle school in the vicinity are in the planning stages, and the Seongseong zone's hagwon district is also easily accessible.

The design sets the complex apart as well. All units are oriented primarily toward the south, and the 84-square-meter Type A, 102-square-meter and 118-square-meter units feature a four-bay flat-slab layout to maximize natural light, ventilation and space efficiency. The 118-square-meter units are all oriented to the south-southwest, with most planned to offer views of Seongseong Lake Park.

"The Sharp Cheonan Lacone is a landmark complex where residents can enjoy both the pleasant surroundings of Seongseong Lake Park and the premium that comes with a large-scale development," a Posco E&C pre-sales official said. "We will deliver a highly refined residential space befitting a top-tier brand."

Meanwhile, Posco E&C posted consolidated sales of 3.45 trillion won ($2.51 billion) in the first half of the year, with operating profit of 97.4 billion won — a turnaround from an operating loss of 66.9 billion won in the same period a year earlier.
