Ongjin-gun in Incheon will launch a support project to improve deteriorating housing conditions for residents of its island communities.
The county will accept applications for its "2027 Residential Environment Improvement Project" from Wednesday through Oct. 16.
Eligible applicants are residents of Bukdo-myeon, Deokjeok-myeon, Jawol-myeon and Yeonghung-myeon whose homes were completed at least 20 years ago.
For reconstruction within the existing floor area or renovation work, the county will cover 80 percent of total construction costs.
The support ceiling is 30 million won ($21,800) per household, with applicants responsible for the remaining 20 percent.
Since 2012, approximately 1,174 households have received support through the project to repair aging homes.
Residents can apply by submitting the required documents to their local township office during the application period.
Further details on eligibility and the selection process are available from the Landscape Improvement Team of the Island Development Division at the Ongjin-gun Office.
