In our IT and Science section on Feb. 10, we reported that Kim Dong-hyun, chief executive of Webzen Crevix, had improperly received excess overtime pay during his tenure at a previous employer. However, following an investigation by the competent police authority, it was confirmed that Kim falls under the category of managerial and supervisory personnel under the Labor Standards Act and is therefore exempt from working-hours regulations. It was also recognized that his late-night work and time away from his desk constituted legitimate extensions of his duties, carried out with the company's knowledge. Accordingly, the charges of fraud and improper receipt of pay were dismissed without referral to prosecutors. We issue this correction to set the record straight. We also regret any confusion our failure to verify the facts thoroughly during the reporting process may have caused our readers.
