Daegu will hold the 2026 Daegu Wedding Festival from Friday to Sunday along Gimgwangseok Dasigeurigi-gil and the wedding street in Daebong-dong, Jung-gu, to boost the local wedding industry, the city announced Wednesday.
Now in its fifth year, the festival is the signature event of the Daebong-dong wedding district. It will unfold across the neighborhood, centered on Gimgwangseok-gil, and is open to all residents — not just engaged couples, but also families, partners and friends.
Daebong-dong in Jung-gu is Daegu's premier wedding-specialty district, home to more than 80 small manufacturers of wedding attire as well as a range of wedding-related businesses including photography studios, makeup artists and travel agencies.
During the festival, engaged couples can browse participating stores and event venues to gather information and services they need to plan their weddings.
Built around the concept "A street where love gathers, a festival where happiness begins," the event will feature a diverse lineup of performances and interactive programs — a wedding serenade, acoustic live sets, a K-pop random-play dance and romantic busking.
Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho said the Daebong-dong wedding street is "a special place where people prepare for love and happiness," adding that he hopes the festival will let residents enjoy the district's charm while bringing new energy to the local wedding industry and neighborhood businesses.
