Busan to host public institution job concert for local youth

The Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced Wednesday that it will hold the "2026 Busan Youth Maritime Capital Public Institution Talk Concert" on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the university theater of Pukyong National University, targeting unemployed youth in the Busan area between the ages of 18 and 39.

Organized as a region-specific program under the Busan Youth Job Growth Project, co-run by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Busan city government, the event aims to deepen young job seekers' understanding of local public institutions and give them a chance to hear firsthand accounts from working professionals. Seven public institutions are participating: Busan Port Authority, Korea Ocean Business Corporation, Busan Transportation Corporation, Busan Facilities Corporation, Busan Environment Corporation, Korea Asset Management Corporation and Korea Housing Finance Corporation.

The first session will feature a lecture titled "AI-Based Strategies for Landing a Public Enterprise Job," covering how to use generative AI to prepare for NCS tests and interviews, how to apply AI tools under blind hiring practices, and strategies for AI aptitude assessments, personal statements and interviews. A second lecture, "Public Institutions Building the Future of Busan, the Maritime Capital," will introduce the maritime and logistics industries, the role of public institutions within them, and the key job functions and career paths at the participating organizations.

The second session will take the form of a talk concert featuring HR managers and new employees as panelists, who will discuss their institutions and job roles, share their hiring experiences and take questions from the audience. Current employees from each institution will offer candid, on-the-ground information to help young job seekers in their preparations.

"We will continue to provide a range of employment support programs so that young people and public institutions can work together to shape the future of Busan as the maritime capital," an agency official said.
