SGC E&C, a global engineering, procurement and construction specialist, announced Wednesday it is adopting Advanced Work Packaging, a next-generation construction management system, to sharpen its project execution capabilities and strengthen its competitiveness in winning new contracts.
AWP integrates the entire plant construction process — from engineering and procurement to construction and commissioning — through digital data management. The system systematically manages key data generated during the design phase, including drawings, quantities and materials, to maintain consistency and currency, and links verified information organically to work packages at each stage.
Applying the system from the earliest project stages lets teams establish an optimal path of construction, maximizing efficiency. Real-time visibility into progress at each phase, combined with the early elimination of conflicts between processes, helps minimize schedule delays while raising quality and overall completion standards.
SGC E&C aims to go beyond simple operational efficiency gains through AWP, seeking a decisive edge in both domestic and international plant markets. The company plans to integrate the data-driven management system with the engineering expertise and project execution know-how built through its in-house engineering organization, elevating its EPC capabilities.
Plant projects have been a core growth engine for SGC E&C. The segment's share of total sales rose sharply from 56 percent in 2024 to 71 percent in 2025, and accounted for 69 percent of total sales in the first half of this year, cementing its position as the company's primary business.
SGC E&C plans to accelerate its push into domestic and international markets in the second half of this year by adding AWP to its existing plant business strengths. The company is also pursuing a phased expansion of AWP across all future projects.

Meanwhile, SGC E&C ranked 10th in the industrial and environmental facilities segment of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 2025 general construction industry performance rankings.
