Professional Billiards Association Korea is venturing into entertainment content by leveraging its intellectual property.
The PBA announced Wednesday that it signed an MOU with Haedam Media at the PBA Lounge in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on Tuesday.
Haedam Media is a media services company that has built expertise in content commerce through the production of terrestrial and general programming, public R&D promotional videos and social media content. The company has worked across a wide range of formats, including current affairs, documentaries, entertainment shows and advertising.
Under the agreement, the two sides plan to make full use of the PBA's intellectual property through initiatives including appearances by professional billiards players on entertainment and current affairs programs, branded and live-commerce productions, public institution campaigns and sponsorship content, and channel and AI live programming. The two companies plan to develop pilot content and release it in stages beginning in the fourth quarter of this year.
PBA Vice President Jang Sang-jin said the partnership would combine the PBA's intellectual property with Haedam Media's accumulated experience to showcase players in a new light beyond the arena. "We hope this becomes a meaningful first shot at discovering new value in our players and opening up new possibilities for sports content in Korea," he said.
