Ulju-gun Assembly inspects Ulju Hospital ahead of opening

The Ulju-gun Assembly in Ulsan conducted a comprehensive inspection of Ulju Hospital on Deoknam-ro in Onyang-eup on Wednesday as part of the field visit schedule for its 248th extraordinary session.

Assembly Speaker Jeong Woo-sik and all assembly members received a briefing from hospital officials on preparations for the start of medical services and future operational plans, then toured the hospital's key facilities.

The lawmakers examined consultation rooms, wards, diagnostic areas and amenity facilities, taking a broad look at the hospital's overall readiness ahead of its opening — including the deployment of medical staff and essential personnel, the operation of medical equipment, patient flow and accessibility, and safety management systems.

"As Ulju Hospital is opening as an essential medical safety net for residents in the southern part of the county, I urge the hospital to concentrate its efforts on stabilizing early operations so that residents can use it with confidence," Speaker Jeong said.

Ulju Hospital is set to begin services Friday, initially offering five departments — family medicine, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and anesthesiology and pain medicine — along with an artificial kidney unit. The hospital plans to add an orthopedics department in September and open its emergency room in October.
