Sol Beach Jindo signs three-way MOU to boost regional tourism

Sol Beach Jindo, operated by Sono International of Sono Trinity Group, announced Thursday that it has established a mutual cooperation framework with Jindo-gun and Bobaeyanollja to promote tourism.

Sono International signed a three-way MOU on "regional tourism promotion and mutual cooperation" with Jindo-gun and Bobaeyanollja at Jindo-gun County Hall on Aug. 19. The agreement centers on developing and operating tourism products using local seafood, providing reciprocal benefits for visitors to each other's facilities, and pursuing other initiatives to revitalize the local economy.

Sol Beach Jindo, conceived around the theme of "the Provence of the South Sea," features top-tier maritime scenery along the southern coast alongside accommodation and leisure infrastructure. The resort plans to link up with Bobaeyanollja, a maritime experience program supported by Jindo-gun, to offer visitors a diverse range of encounters with Jindo's natural environment and culture.

Bobaeyanollja operates the country's first designated experiential recreational fishing ground, centered on an abalone experience site, and offers distinctive fishing-village cultural content. Activities include a maritime abalone experience in which participants board a boat to a cage farm and harvest abalone themselves, as well as freshwater prawn fishing, seafood cooking classes, abalone craft classes and gourmet dining experiences.

Jindo-gun will support the smooth operation of the agreement and promote it through major local channels. The county aims to help transform Jindo's rich maritime resources into high-value industries linked to tourism experiences.

The three organizations have also arranged reciprocal membership benefits. Guests staying at Sol Beach Jindo will receive a 10 percent discount on Bobaeyanollja experience programs. Bobaeyanollja visitors, in turn, will be eligible for a 40 percent discount on Sol Beach Jindo's infinity pool and sauna, and a 20 percent discount at Legend Heroes, the resort's screen sports theme park.
