Aston Martin Vantage wins GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup round

Aston Martin's Vantage has won Round 4 of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup at the Nürburgring in Germany, the British luxury sports car brand announced Thursday.

Regarded as the most successful racing car in Aston Martin's history, the Vantage claimed victory with works drivers Mattia Drudi of Italy, Marco Sørensen of Denmark and Nicki Thiim of Denmark, competing alongside partner team Comtoyou Racing.

The win marks Comtoyou Racing's second victory of the season in the GT World Challenge — and the first time Aston Martin has won twice in a single season in the world's premier GT3-dedicated endurance racing series. Drudi, Sørensen and Thiim previously won the season opener at Circuit Paul Ricard in France in April.

The same trio that delivered a historic Spa 24 Hours victory for Aston Martin and Comtoyou Racing in 2024 also secured pole position in qualifying for this round, showing strong chemistry once again.

Comtoyou Racing currently sits second in the teams' championship, with Drudi, Sørensen and Thiim also second in the drivers' standings. Only the final round remains, scheduled for Oct. 16-18 in Portimão, Portugal. Should they maintain their current positions through the finale, it would mark the best season-end result ever achieved by an Aston Martin team competing in the GT World Challenge.

"Mattia, Marco and Nicki drove brilliantly, and the Vantage has again proven its competitiveness on one of the most fiercely contested stages in world motorsport," said Adam Carter, Aston Martin's head of endurance motorsport. "Two wins from four races is a meaningful achievement and again demonstrates the proven excellence of the Vantage in GT racing."

The Vantage GT3 was developed around the core design and key technology of the Vantage road car, an ultra-luxury sports model. It is built on Aston Martin's proven bonded aluminum chassis and powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine.

Meanwhile, Britania Auto, the official importer of Aston Martin in South Korea, recently held a high-performance S lineup launch event at the Aston Martin showroom in Seoul, unveiling three models for the first time in the country: the DBX S, the Vantage S and the DB12 S.

In Aston Martin's lineup, the "S" designation denotes a high-performance variant that retains the character of the standard model while delivering an elevated level of performance.
