Honda Korea is offering purchase benefits worth up to 6 million won ($4,410) this month, extending a promotion it ran last month, as the company prepares to wind down its domestic car sales business by year's end.
The company announced Friday that it is running a special promotion covering the Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid 2WD and Pilot Black Edition. The offer bundles interest-free installment plans, card cashback and vehicle accessories to reduce the upfront cost for buyers.
Interest-free installment financing, offered in partnership with Shinhan Financial, is available for terms ranging from 36 to 60 months depending on the model. Down payment requirements vary by vehicle.
Under the 60-month interest-free plan, monthly payments come to about 360,000 won for the Accord Hybrid and about 420,000 won for the CR-V Hybrid 2WD. Buyers of the full-size SUV Pilot Black Edition pay about 650,000 won per month.
Customers paying in full also have options. Those who pay by Samsung Card in a single lump sum receive 6 percent cashback on the purchase amount. Returning Honda buyers receive an additional 2 million won discount, and all buyers across every model receive a coupon for six years or 60,000 kilometers of engine oil changes.
Some models come with complimentary accessories. Accord Hybrid buyers receive step garnish worth 560,000 won, installed at no charge. CR-V Hybrid 2WD buyers receive step garnish and a crossbar valued at 870,000 won.
Pilot Black Edition buyers can receive accessories — including step garnish and a crossbar — totaling 2.15 million won in value. Quantities are limited.
Honda Korea announced in April that it would exit the domestic car sales market by the end of this year, more than two decades after it began selling vehicles in South Korea. The company is not pulling out entirely, however — its motorcycle business will continue to operate. Even after car sales end, Honda Korea plans to keep providing after-sales services including vehicle maintenance, parts supply and warranty support.
